Beyond Poverty GSO is a two-day experience that brings together advocates, change-makers, faith leaders, and community members to explore bold ideas, share power, and create real change.
The Poverty Simulation is an immersive, role-playing experience that puts you in the shoes of families living in poverty. Over the course of the simulation, participants navigate one month of real-life challenges—finding work, arranging childcare, paying bills, and more—while making tough decisions under pressure. The goal is to deepen understanding, build empathy, and inspire action.
Community leaders, the faith community, nonprofit professionals, business partners, educators, students, policymakers, and anyone passionate about ending poverty in Greensboro.
Your registration includes access to all sessions for the day(s) you register, event materials, networking opportunities, lunch on Day 1, and breakfast, snacks, and lunch on Day 2.
We encourage participants to attend both days for the most impactful experience. Please note that Day 1 availability is limited to 60 participants due to the interactive nature of the simulation.
We’re exploring whether virtual participation will be available. Updates will be shared here if this option becomes available.
No. Beyond Poverty GSO is free to attend, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and partners.
