Frequently Asked Questions

Beyond Poverty GSO is a two-day experience that brings together advocates, change-makers, faith leaders, and community members to explore bold ideas, share power, and create real change.

  • Day 1 features an immersive Poverty Simulation.
  • Day 2 dives deep into dialogue and solutions through panels, breakout sessions, and lived experience stories—all focused on building a thriving Greensboro.

The Poverty Simulation is an immersive, role-playing experience that puts you in the shoes of families living in poverty. Over the course of the simulation, participants navigate one month of real-life challenges—finding work, arranging childcare, paying bills, and more—while making tough decisions under pressure. The goal is to deepen understanding, build empathy, and inspire action.
